Silver Screen – ‘The Help’

Based on the book with the same name by Kathryn Stockett’s, this is a gorgeous and heart-warming screen adaptation. If you love vintage fourties fashion you will fall for this film!! It tells the story of the civil rights movement through the eyes of two African American maids (Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer) during the sixties in Mississippi. It all starts when a young white journalist (Emma Stone) gets an idea for a story to be published in the newspaper she’s working for. Se wants to hear the black maids opinion on the white families they help. Well, it isn’t the best of opinions. They have some hilarious stories to tell  and some weeping ones as well. I cried myself to sleep and i’m not one for tears!! xxx
